Daisymoon Designs are the largest wooden laser cut factory in the UK, producing wooden shapes for craft people and corporations worldwide, including the BBC and QVC.
I was originally commission to develop a bespoke, small scale, e-commerce website, in 2009, as their initial launch to the public. Although the system worked well, they soon outgrew it, and the requirement for a larger, more advanced system arose.
With my previous experience of the company, and ongoing support, they asked me to commission a Magento based solution for them.
The requirement was for an advanced e-commerce website, allowing for intelligent promotions and sales handling, with multiple payment options and scalable shipping costs. For this, I chose to use Magento, because it is a well known, tried and tested software, with a good support community.
It needed to work in all current browsers, but mobile support was not a consideration, as mobile use was relatively low, at the time.
The design needed to match their existing branding, but also allowed me to bring some new elements to the design.
