The Vegan Pixie wanted a simple online blog website, where they could post their thoughts on vegan life, and recipes for tasty, healthy (most of the time), vegan food.
She wanted a friendly, welcoming feeling to the site, that encompassed an eco/natural feeling, with a bit of fairytale mised in. It also needed to be easy for articles to be managed, and allow visitors to quickly view recipes and leave comments.
I used Wordpress, as the functionality required was mostly handled by Wordpress out of the box. It's also reasonably easy to use, and it's quite popular, so many people are familar with the CMS. There was a requirement for a separate recipe system to be built in, allowing simple, quick adding of instructions and ingredients.
For the front-end software stack, I used my own responsive framework Bill.
The website has been well received in the "foodie" community, and it has been featured on various different food websites.
